Day 1 – Depart Melbourne for Santiago

Date – 14/11/2019

We’re off to South America for a month and what better excuse than a wedding! My younger sister Alexis and her partner Marina are tying the knot by the beach in Praia Do Forte, Brazil, approximately 35 hours from Melbourne. Since we’re travelling so far we figured why not make it a month long journey in South America. We’re trekking, sightseeing, beaching, wining and dining.

Our trip begins with a 2 day commute, starting with a long haul flight to Santiago flying Latam on a dreamliner followed by some internal flights across Brazil to our first destination in Salvador, Brazil. From Salvador we’ll take a 7 hour bus trip to Lençóis, a small town born in the colonial era during the diamond rush that took place in the mid 19th century. We’ll spend 3 days trekking and sightseeing in the Chapada Diamantina national park before heading to Praia Do Forte for a week with family to celebrate the wedding.

I’m planning to blog throughout the trip so if you want to stay up to date hit the button below and bookmark the page.
